Acceptable use policy
The short version: run your server or your bot, do not attack anyone, do not host anything illegal.
Not allowed
Attacking third parties, including denial-of-service traffic, port scanning and brute-force attempts. Cryptocurrency mining. Distributing malware. Hosting or sharing content that is illegal where we operate, in particular material that sexualises minors. Spam relays and phishing. Trying to break out of your own server to reach somebody else's, or the machine underneath.
Discord bots specifically
A bot you host here must be a genuine bot, using Discord's official bot API. Not allowed, and grounds for immediate suspension: self-bots or anything automating a user account, mass direct messaging, advertising or invite spam, token checkers and credential stuffing, raid or nuke tooling, scraping Discord or third-party sites at volume, and running a proxy, VPN exit or tunnel for other people's traffic.
This is not boilerplate. Abuse of this kind gets our network address blocked, which takes every other customer down with it, so we enforce it faster and less forgivingly than anything else in this policy.
Please do not
Deliberately run workloads designed to consume every scrap of shared capacity. Resell your slot as shared hosting to strangers. Use the free tier to run dozens of accounts around the sleep policy. Ask us instead, we are reasonable.
Enforcement
Most problems get an email first. Anything actively harming other people or exposing us to legal risk gets suspended immediately and discussed afterwards. Deliberate abuse means termination without refund.
Reporting abuse
If a SnowServers-hosted server is being used to harm someone, report it through the contact page with the topic set to abuse. These are prioritised.
